QNET has grown from strength to strength over the past 25 years and established itself as a leading light in international direct selling.
Despite that, the company and its direct-selling business model remain poorly understood, especially in many developing nations around the world.
This was one of the main reasons why we invited several journalists, including Kenneth Awotwe Darko of Joy News, a leading media organization in Ghana, to visit QNET‘s office in Malaysia to discover and understand the truth for themselves.
Here’s what Darko discovered…
Direct Selling Is A Misunderstood Industry
Direct selling isn’t a new business model. In fact, it’s been around for generations and, as an industry, continues to display exponential growth.
It’s important to note, too, that direct selling serves two purposes: Firstly, as a retail channel that companies use to market all types of products and services directly to consumers sans the need for storefronts. Secondly, as an avenue for entrepreneurially-minded individuals to earn commissions by recommending and selling these products and services to friends, family and others.
The one big problem with direct selling, Darko found, however, is that while awareness is increasing, especially in countries with thriving direct selling industries, things are far from clear in certain other regions.
Take the case of direct selling in Africa, explained Darko, following his visit, the continent has immense potential and has even been proclaimed “the new frontier” for the multi-billion-dollar industry. Regrettably, the experiences of millions of Africans who’ve fallen victim to Ponzi schemes have clouded the general understanding and recognition of direct selling.
“In many parts of Africa, people can tell stories of how get-rich-quick and money schemes … ravaged their finances. (And) the unfortunate part is that they tend to lump many direct selling companies in that same basket,” the journalist said.
This, of course, is not the situation in places like Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
In fact, Darko was privy to a very different experience during his visit to Malaysia.
He toured QNET’s office and interacted with key company officers who responded to all his questions about QNET’s business model, products and services. Significantly, he even got to be a part of V-Malaysia 2022, the company’s global conference, which was attended by more than 15,000 QNET business owners or independent representatives (IRs) as well as company officers.
“It was electrifying and a sight to behold,” Darko remarked of his experience at V-Malaysia 2022. “I listened to seminars and presentations by many leaders of the company, including its founders, and I visited the exhibition booths, where I saw, touched, felt and experienced QNET’s wide array of products.
“I saw IRs from different corners of the world testifying about their experiences and the achievements they made, both in small and big leaps.”
QNET Is Not a Scam
Incidentally, on the subject of Ponzi or get-rich-quick schemes, Darko noted that one of the attributes of entities running such scams is that they tend to operate for only a short time and shutter as soon as enough money has been made.
That is not the case with top direct selling organizations, and certainly not true of QNET, which has been one of Asia and the world’s leading e-commerce-based direct selling companies since 1998.
Indeed, with a headquarters in Hong Kong, a presence in more than 25 countries worldwide and a track record of having empowered millions to lead more sustainable lives, QNET is undoubtedly one of the direct selling industry’s beacons.
But what especially stood out for Darko was his discovery of how serious QNET is about complying with laws and standards; how it is focused on bettering lives via an extensive catalogue of offerings and social development programmes, and how the company’s success has resulted in formidable business partnerships with top brands.
As Darko explained: “I realized that QNET adheres to international best practices, that it is a member of direct selling associations in several countries and is also a part of the Hong Kong Health Food Association and the Health Supplements Industry Association of Singapore, among others.
“I (also) saw pictures and evidence of the plethora of life-changing interventions and projects the company is implementing across the world, including Africa. QNET is also active in sports sponsorships around the world. Some of the more prominent partnerships include being the direct selling partner of Manchester City Football Club and the African Club League Championships of the CAF.”
Most significantly, QNET is front and center in the fight against fraudulent business activity.
QNET Is Serious About Fighting Fraud and Misrepresentation
According to Darko, one of the first things he came across upon joining the local news team at Joy News was an article in which QNET was attempting to correct misrepresentation about the company.
That article, the journalist said, served as motivation for him to dig deeper into QNET and its business. And what he discovered is an organization that is firm in its mission to end the scourge of business fraud.
This, then, sheds light on the company’s many anti-scam collaborations with governmental agencies in certain markets where it operates. And it also explains measures such as QNET’s Mama Campaign; the award-winning 360-degree initiative for Sub-Saharan Africa that is focused on raising awareness about business scams as well as educating QNET IRs about how to run their enterprises ethically and professionally.
QNET Provides a Unique Opportunity
So, does all of the above suggest that QNET runs a scam?
To Darko, like so many others who’ve actually looked at the evidence, there’s no doubt that QNET is a legitimate organization and what’s most important is that it provides a unique platform for individuals regardless of age, social status or background to live and earn more sustainably.
“I am convinced that with the current economic situation in the world and especially in Africa, a lot of people need multiple streams of income to be able to stay afloat. (Thus) direct selling offers a wonderful opportunity for anyone to buy products, use them or refer the same to other people and earn commission on the purchases they make,” Darko said.
“A lot of people have changed their lives for the better, by simply taking up the opportunities offered by QNET and the direct selling industry.”
